Rolex Datejust 36 ‘Matte Blue’

Price: €4.750

Up for sale is a stunningly C R I S P 1603 with a matte blue dial. The watch was produced in 1978 as per the serial no. between the bottom lugs.

In October of 2020 the watch received its last service at Rolex, from which the Service Card was kept. The watch also comes with its original 70’s box and booklets.

Regarding the overall condition, this is almost as good as it gets. Crazy sharp edges, obviously never polished and hardly worn in general.

The 1603 version of the classic Rolex Datejust is mostly recognised by the steel ‘engine-turned bezel’. This is regarded as the more stealthy counterpart of the well known ‘fluted bezel’.

Fluted bezels were made from (white) gold and were cut much sharper, thus reflecting the light more. Hence why this ‘engine turned’ variant can fly under the radar a bit easier.

The classic 36mm size together with its pristine condition and matte blue dial, make this watch a great purchase for any vintage watch enjoyer.
