Rolex Explorer I ‘Frozen Dial’

Price: €5.500

This week we wanted to highlight the Rolex Explorer I 'Frozen Dial' because we love it so much! This is the second 14270 we had the pleasure of taking in stock. This watch was purchased in 1993 at the Antwerp Rolex Boutique ‘Tensen’ and has had it’s latest service there as well in December of 2022. This Explorer has been very well taken care of, as is visible from the pictures. The case has next to no defects and the bracelet remains very sharp, with only the slightest stretch. We have a T Swiss - T < 25 inscription on the dial signaling the (not anymore) radioactive substance in the lume-filled hour markers. The watch wears an S serial number which also signifies the year the ‘Frozen Dial’ made its appearance. On early "T-Swiss" models like this one, the matte black dial would age in such a fashion as to exhibit something of a frozen look to it. As if a layer of dew has fallen over the dial. The bracelet is period correct and most likely the original one. It features a single lock system that suits the vintage aura of this example perfectly.

This watch comes with it’s original box and the Rolex Service card from 12/2022.

Rolex Explorer I ‘Frozen Dial’

Price: €5.500

This is the second 14270 we had the pleasure of taking in stock. This watch was purchased in 1992 at the Antwerp Rolex Boutique ‘Tensen’ and has had it’s latest service there as well in December of 2022. This Explorer has been very well taken care of, as is visible from the pictures. The case has zero defects and the bracelet remains very sharp, with only the slightest stretch. We have a T Swiss - T < 25 inscription on the dial meaning we have the (not anymore) radioactive substance in the lume-filled hour markers. This also means we are dealing with an S serial number which also signifies the year the ‘Frozen Dial’ made its appearance. On early "T-Swiss" models, the black gloss lacquer dial would age in such a fashion as to exhibit something of a frozen look to it. This is different from a spider dial because the combination of the aging and the shine of the gloss dial surface gives the dial an ice-like effect. The bracelet is period correct single lock Oyster bracelet that suits the vintage aura of this example perfectly.

This watch comes with it’s original box and the Rolex Service card from 12/2022.
